Dr. Hale
has been a board certified ophthalmologist for 22 years
and 18 of those years have been spent performing refractive
surgery. He participated in the FDA clinical trials
which led to the approval of the excimer laser in 1995,
and in 1998 he dedicated his practice exclusively to refractive
surgery in order to focus solely on this specialty and offer
you excellence in both technique and technology.
Dr. Qamar
is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in
laser vision correction. He is one of the first of a new generation
of eye surgeons to train on the excimer laser during his
three-year residency program. During his fellowship, he gained
extensive clinical experience in all refractive procedures
with specific focus on LASIK. Dr. Qamar's unique blend
of experience and achievement has earned him the
respect and admiration of his colleagues and patients.
Hale-Qamar Cataract and LASIK Center offers comprehensive
care. Your surgery fee includes your initial consultation,
your procedure and your post-operative care. Our
staff and lasers are located within our facility; you don't
need to travel to multiple offices for any of your care.
We record our outcome
statistics in a highly sophisticated computerized nomogram,
which aids in achieving optimal surgical results in future
patients.
At the Hale-Qamar
Cataract and LASIK Center, you are treated as a unique individual, not as part
of an assembly line. Our surgeons are very strict in limiting
the number of patients they perform surgery on in one day.
This approach enables our surgeons and the team to stay
fresh and alert throughout the surgical process.
There are no hidden costs
or fees. All initial testing and one year of postoperative
care is included in the initial charge. Nor are there any hidden restrictions
or exclusions in our retreatment policy.
We strive to bring our
patients to their best corrected vision. Often, doctors
lacking skill or experience may feel uncomfortable performing
retreatments if a patient's visual acuity is 20/40 or better.
As long as it is medically safe to do so, our surgeons will
proceed with a retreatment if it is your desire.
The focus of our practice
is medicine, not business. We do not operate in high volume
with an overworked staff so as to discount our price and
consequently, allow our level of care to suffer. We do everything
possible to reduce the incidence of error by being thorough
and meticulous. We do not allow medical decisions to be
influenced by cost issues.
As "fast
and easy" as LASIK is thought to be by the general public,
it is still surgery with all its inherent risks. In the
event of a complication, our surgeon's expertise can be invaluable
in the diagnosis and treatment of such. This expertise may
make the difference between a problem recognized and properly
treated and a problem misdiagnosed or overlooked resulting
in further complications.
